Getting Movies on Firestick

If there’s one this the Amazon Fire TV stick is perfect for, it is watching free movies and TV shows. Watching Firestick movies is very easy to do, especially with your Amazon Prime account.

Your Amazon Firestick provides you with access to over 4,000 channels, apps, and games. You can view over 250,000 TV episodes and movies on various streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Video, HBO NOW, Hulu, and more.

All it takes is a few installations of these apps through the Amazon app store.

You can also add on subscriptions to Showtime, STARZ, and more premium channels to access movies, TV episodes, and sports without the need for cable!

Using Amazon Prime Video to Watch Movies

To start watching movies via Amazon Video, search directly on your Fire TV menu for the Amazon Video app. If the app isn’t already pre-installed, simply click on the app to download it.

Once you download the app, install it and open it and you should have immediate access to a wide variety of free movie titles. Amazon Prime members get unlimited access to Amazon Video and original TV shows such as Transparent.

Though there are movie titles you will have to pay for or rent to view, there are many Amazon prime movie titles that you can watch for free such as Iron Man, Creed, Nightcrawler, and more! The service itself is free to use for Amazon Prime members and is easy to stream.

Amazon Prime is one of the easiest, fastest ways to legitimately watch Firestick movies.  The only thing you need to use Amazon Video is an Amazon Prime account.

Using Netflix to Watch Firestick Movies

If you don’t want to use Amazon Video to stream content, you can download Netflix to view movies and TV shows. Unlike Amazon Video, all the Firestick movies and TV shows on Netflix are available to view and do not have to be purchased.

The only requirement to watch movies on Netflix is to have an existing account or to create one and pay for the monthly subscription. To download Netflix, simply search for it on the Fire TV menu and install it. If you cannot find it immediately in the Amazon app store on the home screen, click on the search icon on the top left of the main menu to type in and search for Netflix. After finding the app, click Download and then Install to acquire Netflix.

Once the installation is finished, open the app, create or sign in to your account and you can begin to watch movies. On Netflix, you’ll have access to hundreds of movies and can also view Netflix Original films.

Using Hulu to Watch Movies

Similar to Netflix, Hulu provides you with access to hundreds of movies and TV shows. Watching Firestick movies and other streaming content on Hulu is also free.  But does require you to have an account and pay a monthly subscription fee.

To download the Hulu app, the same process for Netflix applies. You will have to either download it and install it from the Fire TV main menu in the Amazon store or search and install it via the search bar located at the top of the main menu.

Once you install Hulu, you can sign in to your account or create an account and begin searching and watching movies and shows.

Other Ways to Watch Firestick Movies

Though there are apps like Amazon Video, Netflix, and Hulu to watch movies from, there are a variety of other apps you can use to watch movies that do not require registering for an account or a monthly subscription. Below are a few examples of apps you can install to stream movies and other content.

Kodi

Kodi is an open-source, media player that allows users to stream content through the add-ons they install onto Kodi. Kodi can be used to watch movies, Live TV, and TV shows and to listen to music via the installation of add-ons, which act as content packages. To install add-ons on Kodi, you can search for them on Kodi’s default repository and proceed to purchase the add-ons you want, so in this case, the add-ons that offer movie content.

To install Kodi, you’ll want to first, select Settings on your Fire TV menu and then select System→ Developer Options. Once you are at Developer options, turn on “ADB Debugging” and “Apps from Unknown Sources.” Then, you can press the home button and go to search to type in Downloader. Once you install the Downloader app, open it and input the URL for the Kodi APK file, and then hit download. Once it’s downloaded, select the install option to install Kodi. It is important to note that many of the third-party add-ons that allow you to stream movies and other content for free are often pirating the content from other sources. With that said, here are a few examples of third-party add-ons that allow you to stream content for free:

-Exodus: Exodus offers users access to on-demand movies and TV shows. It is considered to be one of the most popular Kodi third-party add-ons, with users being able to stream a variety of content for free. However, it does contain many pirated sources.

To install Terrarium TV on the Firestick, go to Settings on your Fire TV menu. Then select Device→ Developer Options and enable the “Apps from Unknown Sources” option (if it isn’t enabled already). After you open Downloader, you will have to enter the URL for the FreeFlix APK file in the address bar and click install when you come to the option. Showbox

Another app similar to both Terrarium TV and FreeFlix is Showbox. Showbox is an app that allows users to stream and download free Firestick movies and TV shows. It is considered to be one of the best Android apps that allow users to watch HD-quality movies for free. Though an Android app, Showbox can be used on the Amazon Firestick. To install Showbox on your Firestick, go to Settings on the Fire TV menu. Once at Settings, select Device→ Developer Options and turn on “ADB Bugging” and “Apps from Unknown Sources.” When the warning notification appears, click “Ok” and proceed. Go back to the main menu and click on the Search icon to look for Es File Explorer. Click on the Es File Explorer app to download and install.

Once you install the app, open the app and click “Favorite” from the left-hand side menu. Under the Favorite option, click on the “Add” button and enter the path and name (which should be Showbox). Then click on the bookmark “Showbox,” which is listed in the Favorite section, and begin the installation of the Showbox APK file. Select Download, wait till it completes, and then open the Download folder. Click on the Showbox app and then select Install.
