- Big Update! Ares Wizard no longer hosts Kodi Builds. But you can still use Ares Wizard to reset Kodi (Factory reset). Use the “Install Xenon Kodi 18” section at the top of this page. Even the Update below the one you’re reading now is out-of-date. Ha!
- UPDATE: Xenon build moved to a different menu within Ares Wizard recently! Now instead of finding Xenon build under “All Builds” under “Browse Builds” in the Ares Wizard, we find Xenon build under “Other Builds” . See the full steps below. Yes – Xenon build is still there. It downloads fine on Firestick & Fire TV, but does not seem to install addons / theme properly. Although regarding Xenon build’s current location, Xenon Build for Kodi is simply now in “Other Builds” within the Ares Wizard instead of “All Builds”.
- NOTE: There were multiple errors in this tutorial, but we fixed them. Thank you for your Feedback. We listened!

How to Install Xenon Build in Kodi 17
- From the Kodi homescreen, press the System icon (the Gear icon in the top left corner).
- Then select System Settings. Now select “Add-Ons” from the left side of the System Settings menu.
- Now turn on “Unknown Sources” – then press “Yes” to confirm your selection.
- Go back to the Kodi home screen. Then go to the System menu once again (the Gear icon).
- Now select File Manager
- Then choose “Add source“
- Now select the box that says “None“.
- Then enter the address http://ares-repo.eu/
- Now press OK
- Select the box that says Enter a name for this media source
- At this point, you can either leave the default name (“magic”) or change it to anything you’d like. When you’re done with the name, press OK.
- Select OK again to finish adding the new source.
- Now go back to the Kodi home screen
- Select “Add-Ons“
- Then select the Package Installer icon (which is an icon in the top left corner of the “Add-Ons” screen that looks like a Package!)
- Now select “Install From Zip File“
- Choose the new source you added (“magic”)
- Then select the folder you see (named something similar to “ares-repository“)
- Now select the file you see (named something similar to “repository.aresproject-x.x.x.zip“)
- Wait a few minutes for the Ares Repository to install. Your Firestick (or other Kodi device) may seem hung-up during this part – but just wait. It should be good to go after a few minutes and display an “Ares Wizard Repository enabled” notification.
- Now select “Install From Repository“.
- Then choose “Ares Wizard“
- Now select “Program add-ons“
- Select “Ares Wizard“
- Now wait a few minutes for the actual Ares Wizard to install.
- Return to the Kodi home screen. Once you see the Ares Wizard icon on the Kodi 17 home screen, select the icon to launch Ares Wizard.
- Wait a minute or two for Ares Wizard to launch. You’ll know when the Ares Wizard launches because it has a unique menu screen with several different buttons, a completely different background than the normal Kodi background, and says in big letters at the top of the screen “Ares Wizard”.
- After Ares Wizard has launched, select “Browse Builds” from the top left corner of Ares Wizard. This button is right next to “Browse Addons” and “Login” in the Ares Wizard main menu screen. Once you select Browse Builds menu button, select the “Other Builds” button. Note: Before Xenon was moved to “Other Builds” it was in the “All Builds” sub-menu button. Don’t leave “All Builds” selected – because it will be selected by default. Switch to “Other Builds” to find Xenon.
- Skip past this step (because the step is now unnecessary after Xenon Build moved to “Other Builds”).
Now use the Down button your Firestick remote (or PC keyboard) to scroll down in the list of Builds under “All Builds”. - Also skip this step.
When you see “Diggz Fire Builds“, select it using the Center button on the Fire TV remote. Tip: “Diggz Fire Builds” is between “CHAPPiE” and “Fire TV Guru”. - Skip this step as well.
Wait for the list of Diggz Fire Builds to appear. - Then select Xenon from the list of “Other Builds”. Note: Before Xenon moved, in this step we would normally choose “Xenon Clean” (or Xenon XXX – for adults only) using the Center button on the Firestick remote. But the Clean / XXX option disappeared, so just select “Xenon”.
Tip: Xenon Clean is between “Xenon XXX” and “Diggz X1 XXX”. - Now use the Fire TV remote to move the cursor to the “Install” button.
- Select the “Install” button in the middle of the screen using the Center button on the Fire TV remote.
- Ares Wizard now displays an “Options” screen. Select “Proceed” using the Center button of the Fire Stick remote.
- Kodi now says “Downloading Xenon Clean”. Wait for Kodi to download Xenon Clean Build onto your Firestick, Raspberry Pi, or other Kodi device. The download is roughly 300MB, FYI.
- When Xenon Build is done installing, Kodi displays a few popup windows, such as “Would you like to keep the skin settings?” – you may answer “No” to this. Also, Kodi will ask if you’d like to subscribe – you may answer “No” (although answering “Yes” helps support Ares Wizard!). Finally, you will see a notification that says something like “Install Complete. Force reboot?“. Press “OK” when you see this to restart Kodi in Xenon Clean Build mode!
- When Kodi restarts, you should see an entirely different homescreen, with a different background, different icons, and all new stuff from the Xenon Build. Enjoy using the Xenon Build for Kodi 17 Krypton!

has Xenon been deleted from Ares Build? Have tried in the last few days to install on several Android boxes running 17.3. each time I try to install it does not show up in the ares project builds. I also tried on a second generation Amazon fire…same results.
Ian…Im stuck on step 29.There is no DiggzBuilds but there is a DuggzBuilds. When I looked there was no Xenon Clean to choose.
I have a fresh 17.3 kodi install
Ares installed ok
However Diggz and the diggz clean not on list
an ideas?
Thanks Jeff
Hello, I can’t see the Diggz Builds. Could the name have been changed?
Thank you, for the step by step instructions. but as of 2 or maybe 3 days ago, the diggz fire build was removed from the ares wizard. I have try it more than 12 times since then. and it still has not come back. can you help me find it?
It says unable to connect, but wifi is connected.
Diggs builds disappeared off ares wizard today. Which is bizarre because I installed xenon this am on downstairs tv and tried to do it upstairs and it’s not there?! Any help? Thanks so much!
Hi Carl, sorry for the late reply. In case you didn’t solve it yet, I had several errors in this tutorial. But I fixed them. Can you try again and let me know if it works for you? Thanks
Hello, at least a few other users told me the same thing.
Although I am installing Xenon Clean Build on Fire TV as I’m writing this reply.
P.S. I had some errors / missing steps in this guide, but I fixed them (all of them, I think).
Hello, I’m not exactly sure – but Xenon Clean is now appearing under “Browse Builds” – then select “Diggz Fire Builds” which is between “CHAPPiE” and “Fire TV Guru”.
Hi Jeff,
My instructions here were incorrect. First you select “Browse Builds” in the Ares Wizard. Then select “All Builds” (which is selected by default after you click Browse Builds anyway). Then you scroll down and find Diggz Fire Builds between Chappie and Fire TV Guru
Hi Calvin,
My instructions were incomplete.
First you select Browse Builds in Ares Wizard
Then leave “All Builds” selected.
Then scroll down and find Diggz Fire Builds between Chappie and Fire TVGuru
Hi Dale,
I think it must have been offline for a few days. It seems to be online now (it’s downloading Xenon Clean build onto my firestick at 500KB/sec, which is slow but steady, and is at about 90% done.
So hopefully it was just overloaded and is fine now.
Hello,
I think the server was down for a few days. Can you try again?
That is weird. It looks like it’s back now. I’m just now finishing installing it on my Firestick. It downloaded at 500KB per second (took about 10 minutes).
Hello, im at the build screen in ares wizard and go to diggz fire build and keep grtting the same message. Its not available right now. Did they do something to it? Will it be back so i can get it again?
I did the xxx one but it asks for a password and also none of the tv shows or movies actually load or play.
I’m receiving the error message:
503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
Sorry, looks like it isn’t available right now.
Hello says Diggs fire build is unavailable
Hey there.. beginner to Firestick but not computers… Added the source, but not seeing any zip files once it goes to Ares. Just an empty directory. When I go to it from a PC, I’m getting a 404 error. Any ideas/alternate sources?
It sounds like the server hosting the Diggs Fire Build may have been temporarily down. You could try again later, and if it still shows as missing, maybe use a different build or repository. The Durex Build is really popular and well done. Good luck and enjoy!

Hi Drewski, we just received news that Jason Diggz (maker of Xenon) is no longer keeping the build online. We’ll update you here if we receive any other news about the build.
Unfortunately it looks like Xenon is no longer available. It *does* appear under “Other Builds” in the Ares Wizard (instead of “All Builds” under Browse Builds). But I tried to install it on my Firestick and it didn’t load up the addons or theme properly.
Hi Kevin, Xenon build is no longer supported. Sorry! The maker of Xenon build stopped maintaining it.
Hi Slider, this build is no longer being maintained by its author (Jason Diggz).
Sorry, the Xenon build is now offline (no longer maintained by its creator). Instead, I recommend a different build within the Ares Wizard.
I tried to simply add the source, abd it is saying “Couldn’t retriece directory info. Could be from network not being connected.” But it is connected, and running perfect. And ideas on how to fix this?
Hi Madison, I’m assuming this is a problem with the Ares Project’s western repo location going dark. You should be able to change the Ares repo source to http://ares-repo.eu/ and be back in business. Let me know if that takes care of the problem.
I just followed all the steps, restarted and krypton still comes up. No xenon. There were no errors during the process. I’m not sure what to do
Hi Kadee,
A new version of Xenon was released since then. Here’s the new tutorial video:
