Mastering Terrarium TV: Download, Navigate, Enjoy!

Install Guides, Streaming

Media streamers around the globe have been enjoying free movies and TV shows through apps like Kodi and Terrarium TV for years. If you’ve been looking to get in on the action, today is your lucky day.

Our guide on Terrarium TV how to use it, and how to get it installed properly will have you headed in the right direction in no time. We are going to walk you through the setting process and touch on a few TTV settings you’ll want to tinker with as well.

Downloading Terrarium TV

The first thing you do is acquire the program for the system you want to run it on. In most cases, that would be an Android device, and for a very good reason. The Terrarium TV app has a streaming function built in for Android. This allows you to cast Terrarium TV to your big screen so you can enjoy your favorite movie or TV shows.

The easiest place to pick up the latest version of the .apk file is going to be the subreddit for the program, which you can find here. Once you get the file on your Android smartphone, you may need to go into your options and tick the “allow unknown sources” box which let you install applications from outside Google Play.

When it loads up, you’ll be asked for permissions and then it’s on to the content. The layout of Terrarium TV is simple to use and easy on the eyes. If you have used similar apps like ShowBox, you will have no trouble navigating through the menus and finding what you want.

The main screen gives you a tab on the right where you can select movies, TV shows or change settings. Across the top, you’ll see a drop-down menu labeled “Trending” along with a cast button and a 3-dot menu. You are also going to see a load of shows in front of you as well so don’t be overwhelmed. The controls at the top are what we’re going to focus on for the moment.

Terrarium TV Controls

What you see in the trending tab depends on if you’ve selected movies or shows. For movies, the drop-down menu brings up a variety of options. You can see what the most popular options are or check out the new HD releases on Terrarium TV. Curious about what’s playing in theaters? There is a section devoted to that as well.

You can also choose to pull up films by genre, which gives the app a Netflix-style feel.  There is a little something for everyone as you can see from the sampling of sections below…

  • Action
  • Thriller
  • Sci-Fi
  • Mystery
  • Crime
  • Romance
  • Comedy
  • War
  • Stand-up Comedy

In addition to those areas, there are some interesting sections like YouTube Red, Christmas, Marvel and 4K. When you find something you like, you simply need to click the section and away you go. As for the rest of the controls, the hourglass is the search function, and the 3-dot menu pulls up settings, their Reddit, and a few other sections.

On the TV side of things, you can choose from options like most popular, most played, most watched and top rated. There are genres, but you will also get access to “lists” for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and YouTube Red. The rest of the controls remain the same, so there are no major changes from the movie side in regards to functionality.

Choosing Content

When you find what you want, it’s not quite as simple as clicking play, unfortunately. This is the part where new users trip up when it comes to Terrarium TV how to use it. With movies, it’s fairly straightforward. You click the play button at the bottom, and a screen with sources magically appears. You’ll want to give them a minute to load, and what shows up depends on your settings.

We won’t delve into that, but you can find out more about which boxes you should tick in our guide to Terrarium TV settings. Again, if you’re new, this may not make much sense, so we’ll make it simple.

The higher the file size, the better the quality in most cases. You actually have to know the quality of the content beforehand unless you’re in the HD section. Otherwise, you’re shooting in the dark.  When you select a source, you are given several options which include…

  • Play
  • Play with Subtitles
  • Play with…
  • Download
  • Download with Subtitles
  • Copy stream link

The top three options are self-explanatory and will use the media player you have selected. If you haven’t picked one, there are plenty of find options like MX Player available in the Play Store. You can also stream movies to your big screen if you have a Chromecast device or Fire TV.

For TV shows on Terrarium TV, the process is still the same, but you will need to select the season and episodes individually.

Terrarium TV for Downloads

Our first three options allow you to stream Terrarium TV movies or shows, so you don’t have the files on your device. The next three work in a similar fashion to a torrenting system and let you download the media you’ve selected.

You can choose to download media complete with subtitles, or copy the stream location for your own uses. No matter which way you go, you will want to keep on thing in mind – a good VPN service. We won’t go down that road today, but you can the video below  shows you how to use IPVanish.

Important Terrarium TV settings

Now that you understand Terrarium TV how to use it and how to navigate the app, we’re going to leave you with a few quick tips.

From the settings menu, you can set the program to filter out things you don’t want to see. While it can’t save you from a terrible film, it can keep foreign ones or low-quality cams out of your way. TV junkies will be pleased with the new episode notification system as well.

If you have a high-end handset, we also advise you to select Parallel Sources Loading which significantly speeds things up.

While TTV is an amazing app to have on hand if you love media, keep that VPN in mind and remember to consume your content responsibly. Show holes are real, and you can find yourself easily lost to one when you fire up a streaming application like Terrarium TV.
