Roku makes it incredibly easier to organize paid channel subscriptions so that you can access them from one place. But it does a lot more than that.
Roku features an army of free apps that allow users to view content for free. There is a truckload of Roku free channels, some more popular than others.
In this post, we will share a list of top free Roku channels. And when we say free we mean exactly that. You can download and watch these channels without having to pay a dime.
Sounds great?

Pandora
A personalized radio service, Pandora allows you to create custom web radio stations based on your favorite artists, songs, or genres. While there are scores of music streaming services available, none has a free version that’s as good as Pandora’s.
Of course, there will be commercials in free version, but that’s no big deal (it’s radio, how can it be otherwise?).
Crackle
Want to watch Hollywood movies and hit TV shows for free? You might want to get your hands on Crackle.
The crackle Roku app has a good collection, but streaming at times can be less than perfect.
NewsOn
Want to get the latest news for free? Try NewsOn then.
The NewsOn Roku app allows you to stream news channels from all over the country.
PBS
There are many television networks with their Roku channels. However, most of them don’t allow you to stream the content unless you login through your cable provider—but not PBS!

The PBS Roku app gives you access to some wonderful documentaries and programs for free.
Livestream
A top free Roku channel, Livestream is just perfect for watching live events in news, entertainment, music, education, spirituality, celebrities, sports and much more!

iHeart Radio
With iHeart Radio, you can enjoy your favorite traditional radio stations live for free. If you want, you can create customized stations too, much like Pandora.
Popcornflix
It allows you to watch full-length streaming movies as well as TV series for free. The collection is not exhaustive, but it’s not bad, either. There are more than 700 movies, some famous and some not so well known.
Twitch
If you are an e-sports fanatic, you got to have this channel. You can stream competitive as well as casual games for free. There’s a paid version, but you don’t really need it if you are fine with ads.
Tubi TV
You can watch popular movies as well as famous TV series for free. The videos will have commercials but not as many as in cable. Its content library is not half as large as Netflix’s, but nevertheless it does have some good stuff.
Sports Illustrated
While Roku has plenty of sports channels, most of them require subscription. Sports Illustrated, however, is a good free option for all those who want to remain up-to-date with the latest in the world of sports.
Pluto TV
This streaming service allows you to watch free TV but it is different from Tubi TV or Crackle. It allows you to watch live TV. Its staff assembles the channels which use free stream and online videos, so there will be none of those popular channels like CBS or FOX. Nevertheless, it has some impressive channels.
YouTube
Of course, you can’t afford to give this original free streaming service a pass, can you? In addition to the usual-generated content, YouTube offers innumerable feature films, documentaries, and TV show episodes.
Weather Underground
Want to get local weather and weather predictions for free? Then this is just the channel you need.
